About Michael Anderson

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC and LPC) with over eight years of experience providing individual and group therapy to diverse populations. Licensed in both Florida and Pennsylvania, I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, offering affirming care in areas such as gender dysphoria, sexual issues, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

In addition to my work with LGBTQ+ clients, I have a specialized focus on supporting individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease. I’ve completed advanced training, allowing me to offer informed, compassionate care tailored to the unique emotional and cognitive challenges associated with the condition.

My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Carlow University and undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. I completed my graduate internship at Persad Center, where I worked extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals, and my undergraduate internship at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, gaining early experience in a high-level clinical setting.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, to help clients achieve meaningful, lasting change. I am also passionate about advocacy and program development, with experience leading training initiatives and contributing to mental health policy reform.

With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and community education, I am dedicated to promoting awareness, inclusivity, and accessible mental health care for all.
